This work of Father Luis Coloma tells the story of the tooth fairy, which in its function of collecting the teeth of children, collected the king Buby I (future Alfonso XIII of Spain) and go together to the house of a poor child. It is a delightful and moralizing tale.

No es sólo para niños, bueno, realmente debo decir que es para todo niño que debe y/o debería vivir en cada uno de nosotros.
Este es un cuento clasico. sencillo y para todo publico. Diaria que incluso es refrescante. LO recomiendo a todos especialmente a los niños y a los que son como ellos
I want to break this review up into two parts; 1) The story itself, and 2) This printed edition.
1) THE STORY itself is actually quite wonderful. Coloma does a fantastic job of capturing the essence of folklore in creating a story about the Tooth Rat, Ratón Pérez. As this story is largely the basis for the Spanish/Hispanic belief in the mythical "Ratón", which replaces the American/European Tooth Fairy, I think it's a pretty important piece of folklorish literature.
This story is in Castilian Spanish, and as far as I'm aware, is simply a reprint of the original published in 1911.
2) THIS PRINTED EDITION is actually a pretty big let down. Since the story is in the public domain, someone just decided to make a CreateSpace version of it. I was very disappointed when I received it. The book originally contained drawn images which, while included here, are formatted so poorly that there are large blank spaces between the images and the paragraphs. There is no information on the spine, it's just blank, which looks ugly sitting on a shelf. The book is so slim, and the binding is so flimsy, that once you open it and read it, the back/front covers will continue to curl open when you lay the book down. i was glad that they used the cover image from the 1911 edition, but it was clearly a low resolution photocopied version, that you can see it pixelating a bit up close.
I wouldn't call it terrible, but certainly disappointing. I actually wrote the review specifically to warn people about this. However, this is the only printed version I've been able to find.
I gave it 3 stars because while the edition is disappointing, the story itself is very good. Hope this helps.

I was thrilled to get this original version of a wonderful Spanish story for children! Beautiful illustrations and charming old-Spanish text. A delight for my grandchildren.
